New Around Here
Hi,
I own a small compagny (3 people) and we are moving to a new building that is wired with cat 6 cable. We might have fiber connection in the next few years (at the moment we have ADSL and something like 20 Mbits/s). I am wondering what would be the best choice for a router knowing that I do not need wireless, that fast routing speeds between the different computers and our NAS (QNAP TS-239) is a plus and that advanced firewall solutions are not that important.
Thanks for the advices
Best.

Or...
Could I keep my old WRT54G router, attach a Gigabit Router to it and connect all computers (+NAS) to the switch ?
In other words, would a non-Gigabit router, limit transfer speeds between computers in such a configuration ?

use a gigabit switch for all the local gear and just uplink to the wrt54g for the internet connection and wireless.
should not slow you down as all the local devices with have a gig connection, just let the router handle dishing out IP address and the connection to the net

router suggestion netgear GS108t smart switch

20Mb/s ADSL? I'd like to know what provider is servicing you.

Is this a private pipe just for you or is it shared with other tenants in the building?
