Occasional Visitor
On my home network which is behind a simple Netgear router, ipconfig shows my router as the dns server. Question, does my router simply pass the DNS requests along to the ISP's DNS server or does it maintain a cache of some sort. Thanks Bob
 
from my experience, when doing this with consumer routers, it is just acting as a forwarder for the request, and no caching is involved.
that's not say that it isn't, but it probably isn't.
