I have tried different settings..but I usually give the cameras 1.5 Mbps each....but.... when they are connected the ISP modem... there is no Qos on it, so the cameras use the full speed, and there is no issue. And what is the Bandwidth limiter set to? This may be your 'Asus' issue right here?
what Im trying to say is that, regardless if I enable Qos or not on the Asus router, the camera feed is very sluggish and skipping frames... when connected to the ISP modem, very smooth.@macster2075, then it is the settings you're implementing, not the router that is at fault here.
If it hurts, stop doing it!
I've done that, but all I get is how to setup OpenVPN as a client... I don't see anything on how to setup the Asus vpn... been looking for a while.Google: "asus vpn step by step"
I now notice that the cameras are unaffected by mac or IP address filtering. The router says they are blocked but still have outside connectivity because I can access them via the Wyze app. I am using cellphone towers, not wifi.
I can block other devices like my own phone, but the cameras seem to bypass the filtering...why would that be?
The blocking started working again and I can still view the cameras via lan only which is great...significant difference in bandwidth activity...very minimal and very smooth
....but from time to time it disconnects and then I then I cant view the cameras anymore unless I enable internet access.
Thats because the Cam vendor lost the link from your home to theirand I get a message that says that the cameras P2P is off
Thats because on your LAN your the boss....but over at the vm android, it never drops
But both the vm machine and firesticks are in my LAN. I dont get what the difference is between the connection of one device over the other since they are both using the same connection over the same network.Thats because the Cam vendor lost the link from your home to theirillegal data collectioncontrol center.
Thats because on your LAN your the boss.
User errorOK.. I am narrowing it down.
So, ever since I turned off the 2.4 ghz radio on the AC68P router, everything has been great and even getting great speeds on the 5ghz, because I noticed that even the 5ghz was being affected... whenever I turned the 2.4 back ON, the speed test will have high ping and slow speeds...even when connected to the 5ghz wifi, which makes no sense....
So.. I noticed that on this NEW AC86U, I was not getting the same speeds on the 5ghz connection as I was getting on the old AC68p router ( on the same channel).. so it got me thinking.. what if I turn OFF the 2.4 radio on this new router too?
and whatayaknow?... the speeds are back up and steady... but why?.. why is the 2.4 radio affecting everything, even the 5ghz connection?
I am very confused. Could it be a bug in the firmware?
