Hi!

I'd like to place a VPN router between my ADSL+ modem and my wireless router so I can have VPN activated always. OpenVPN or L2TP is the min requirements as I am in Saudi Arabia and they ban PPTP. I was thinking Linksys LRT224 or Cisco RV180. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Hi, I have the Linksys LRT224 and have employed both PPTP and OpenVPN. Both worked but, when I changed the Open VPN settings it stopped working and I had to revert to default and re-load the base configuration then set OpenVPN again from scratch. It works but seems to be a bit fragile!
Hope this helps

Neither routers are good for the task, get yourself an inexpensive embedded machine or even the raspberry pi is a good contender as you have far more flexibility such as using wireguard VPN. Pair this with a configurable router.
