New Around Here
Hi there, I have an asus 4G-AC55U for about 3 months now and it was working perfectly. What I did that I changed the multicast rate setting from Auto to ofdm. I applied the change and rebooted the router. Since then, the router stopped working and started to restart over and over after the reboot.

I restored the router to the factory setting and reset it. It is still restarting non stop.
When I get to the gateway web page, it tells me that the router settings have been updated. On the network connections, the Ethernet connection is trying to identify the router, but keeps on failing. The router restart every 20 second, but just before it restart, it connect for a moment then restart again. At that moment, when I refresh the web page, I get to the router wizard setting. But that is it.

Can someone guide with this issue? Is there a solution to it,because the technical support at ASUS surly could not mange to help me! not bashing on them, but they can do a better job than just tell me to restore the router, and if I did it correctly. It is a great router though.

I have read some thread here and there, but I don't really understand the exact problem.

Pull the power plug from the back of the router. Hold the reset button in while plugging the power back in.
Keep the reset button in till the power led flashes repeatedly. Then open your browser at 192.168.1.1 and click the erase nvram, I believe that is what it says, then click reboot.

The power LED is flashing. When I go to the browser, I get the same web page that say the settings have been update.
Am I messing something here?

Try a different browser or clear your cache.

Thank you, thank you mate. The router is working. I wasn't sure how to erase the nvram, but I googled it. I had to press the wps for a moment, then turn off then on the router while holding the button, until you see the power LED flashing fast, then release the button.

I really appreciate the tips and help. thank you again!
