RT-68P versus RT-87U

I need to decide which of these two routers to buy. What do you think of these claims?

The RT-87U has faster wireless, but the advantage only appears when an advanced client device is used, such as another RT-87U. Most home electronics do not benefit.

User reviews on various websites such as Amaxon.com and Bestbuy.com indicate that the RT-68P is a bit more stable and reliable than the RT-87U.

Yes, the newer RT-AC87U has a few bugs left to iron out still. The slightly updated RT-AC68P which is essentially an RT-AC68U except for a little faster hardware has gone through that bug sorting phase already.

As funds don't appear to be an issue, I would be buying the most advanced hardware I can which right now is the RT-AC87U. If you plan on keeping this purchase for a long time. If you feel that an urge to upgrade will hit in a year or so, save some cash now and buy the 'P.

AC68P 1300Mbps AC87U 1700 to 1800 Mbps. So we're talking roughly 400 to 500 Mbps faster. Is that really needed in a SOHO? Will you really see a difference? I doubt it. This is just my opinion of course. Money is not an issue for me and I chose the 68P as it is more stable and fulfills my network needs.

Won't even see those speeds unless you have another RT-AC87U to connect to.

But in a few short years, it may be enough to be able to hold on to this router until the next generation products have the bugs worked out (enough).
