Hello,

I got the rt-88u from amazon.com, the 5GHZ band however is locked to the US channels. [36,44,48,157 etc.]
I however live in Europe and here a different set of channels are allowed.

I flashed the newest merlin FW but i cannot find a way to unlock all the other channels.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

You can't.

Hello thanks for replying.

I've tested the router yesterday and was really underwhelmed by the adaptive QOS feature.

Coming from a Linksys WRT1900ac, when gaming is still got ping spikes when windows was downloading some updates, or when uploading something to youtube.
Isn't the adaptive QOS there in order to prioritize gaming packets and throttle all other activities??

I'm really pissed off cause this router was advertised as "The router for gamers" :/

Should I just forget adaptive QoS and set up traditional QoS?

Unless something has changed recently I believe traditional QOS is "broken":(. So it might be worth persisting with adaptive QOS a bit longer.

Whaaat???

How long has it been "broken"?
Any place i can read up on that?
How can one of the "key features" of the product not work???
Is there someplace i can vent my anger so Asus get's their stuff together?

Is there maybe a previous FW version where this feature works as intended?

I'm really sad right now :( paid a lot of money to upgrade from a perfect WRT1900ac which only issue i had with is the lack of good QoS support (especially Qos for upload)...

Really Asus WTF?

Any tips how i can setup traditional Qos to counteract ping spikes when some client is uploading or downloading stuff on the network?

Thanks for the help!

This was the last thing I read about it: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/need-help-with-range-extensor-and-qos-on-ac3200.37228/#post-305252

Regarding venting your anger, there's no point doing it here but you might get some response on ASUS' own support forums. Or try contacting their customer services directly, but in my limited experience their 1st line staff are just script-readers.

Sorry I can't be any more help but I don't have that router, or use adaptive QOS.
thanks man no worries!
