RT-AC3100 possibly bricked

New Around Here
Hi this is my first post here as I've not been able to find a solution or anyone else that has had this problem occur. I've been searching for about 4 hours now trying to find something to no avail.
Earlier today I tried to do a firmware update on my ac3100, I downloaded the current 382 not beta build from Merlin's site, extracted it set it to install, waited for the confirmation. Message came up saying installation complete you may now manually reboot your device. So I pressed the power button on the back of the router, waited a moment then powered it back on. The only light that comes on is the internet activity light. The power light is faintly lit as well as the usb2.0 light, but not like they would normally be.
At this point I waited for about 5 minutes and got no change, my PC never got an IP again and continued to state it was unplugged. I then went ahead and powered off the device and tried resetting to the factory settings by holding the WPS button on the rear while powering on the device. This resulted in the same symptoms as before. I then went and tried putting the router into the firmware recovery mode. I tried unplugging the device, holding down the reset button and then plugging it back in. I held the reset button and waited for the power light to do anything at all, and after 5 minutes of holding it. I don't think it's going to do anything.

What in the world do I do at this point?

Try a factory default reset first:

1) Turn the router off
2) Press the WPS button
3) While pressing it, turn it on
4) Wait about 10 seconds, then release it

See if it boots. If not, then try again the recovery mode procedure:

1) Turn the router off
2) Press the reset button
3) While pressing it, turn it on
4) Wait about 10 seconds, then release it

If it still fails, then you will need a serial cable to determine what is going on, but most likely the router is dead, or the bootloader was somehow corrupted/damaged.
