New Around Here
Hello everyone. Im new to Merlin so working through some growing pains. I just read the above sticky about incompatibility issues with this router. I actually installed the software, but am still running into a strange issue. If I reboot the router it will not come back up. I actually have to run a timer, and wait 5 minutes or more then turn on the power. Then it comes up. I did not see the thread before installing Merlin. So I am not sure what firmware it originally was on. Is this the issue or will it just not install if I had the 3.0.0.4.380_3000 or newer version? I am also wondering if I should just reset it back to the newest firmware by Asus, and wait for a fix by rmerl?

Any help is greatly appreciated by the community.

Edit: Just a heads up when it boots incorrectly the lan and wan ports in use will light up, but nothing else. I can't connect or ping the router at all.

380.59 is not incompatible with your router.

If you had the latest Asus firmware installed prior to flashing 380.59 , you would simply have had a notice telling you the upgrade failed.

Are you sure that you have flashed the correct firmware for the AC3200 ?

That's weird.

It's working great for me.

P.S.
Stock --> Shibby's TomatoUSB --> 380.59 Beta --> 380.59 --> 380.60 Alpha 3--> 380.60 Beta 1

It's only incompatible if it had the newer firmware installed from what I saw in the sticky post.

I never received a message installing it. It installed easily.

I'm positive I down loaded the correct firmware from merlin's site.

Thank you merlin for posting the sticky I was referring to.

My question is this. If I am having weird boot up issues where the only light that comes on are ports in use, and zero others.(No power/WiFi) I can not connect to the router when it is like this. The only way to get this to boot correctly is shut it down, and wait 5 minutes to power on. Could this be because of the Asus Merlin, or an actual hardware issue?

If Power fails to light, then there's a good chance it's a hardware defect. Try resetting it to factory default settings first, by turning the router on while pressing the WPS button, wait about 5 seconds, then release it.

I'm just going rma it back to Amazon, and get another one. It is booting to sporadically. Hopefully the one I get in return is in better shape.
