RT-AC56U ntp error messages

When checking the logs from this router I keep getting a recurring "error" message ( every hour). It is

rc_service: ntp 561:notify_rc stop_ntpc

Does anyone know what to do about this? My router is using the Asus VPN client and is on the very latest firmware (*_3602 )

I am using pool.ntp.org as the NTP server.

I had the same issue with the official firmware, asked here about it and got no answer. This us not VPN related. Flashed latest Merlin firmware, no more annoying logs.

I wonder if it has any ill effects? Does Merlin's software have a similar VPN client? I quite like the Asus GUI and their VPN client works fine for me. Just that it ff ntp related message.
