Hello!
So I got what seemed to be a medium range router from ASUS, the RT-AC65P.
I tried to find anything related to it on this forum, there's hardly any results.
Initially I was interested in finding about aimesh, and from the ASUS FAQ page, it is simply not currently supported.
The good news is that to have Aimesh, one needs simply a firmware update (no specific hardware).
Anyone knows maybe a roadmap, or any information related to that?
(I did email Asus support in my country, no replies so far, and I have my doubts in their answer quality...)
In general, I am rather very surprised with the situation. I mean the router looks good, new, and there's hardly anything about it.
I was also considering the "RT-AX89X" as a router, but there were no stocks or decent prices around, most likely due to weird effect of Covid. I saw it around equivalent of 900 usd in some shops, which is ridiculous...
Anyway, anyone can shed some light?
thanks
Edit: I also checked, no "merlin" for RT-AC65P either...
Edit2: according to this: info rt-ac65p the chipset is MediaTek MT7621AT.
I also read on this forum, Mediatek/Merlin? No chance. It seems to be a limitation, unlike broadcom/qualcom chipsets...
