I'v e been using the RT-AC66R for awhile now and absolutely love the Merlin updates by the way. They seem to be the only thing that keeps the router functioning properly! Thanks for that!

My question today is that I have a concern that my Western 2TB external usb drive appears to be failing. This will be the 2nd one I've gone through since the router was released. It's somehow being automatically unmounted. A drive check doesn't reveal any issues. Anyways, my question is that I know this particular router has limits on the amount of hard drive storage it can handle. Is that the same if I went with upgrading to a cloud hard drive network storage option? I've noticed that many external drives now offer cloud technology where you can use a network drive to and access it from multiple places. Or, do I have to stick with the 2gb maximum?

Thanks in advance.

If your router doesn't handle more than a 2TB drive, no matter what type of drive you plug in, it'll always be a maximum of 2tb. However, I'm fairly certain 2TB isn't the maximum space that your router can handle.
