All was working fine for last year or two but for kicks, updated to latest 384.6 firmware. Found I lost wifi, and reset didn't work so google'd and somewhere someone did a 30/30/30 reset and was able to get their router working fine again.

So I did it and try to update in CFE miniweb server which showed the firmware had been successfully uploaded and to wait for reboot, but it never reboots. 192.168.1.1 just takes me to CFE miniweb server and I can't get out of it.

Then I tried to update using ASUS utility firmware restoration but it always get the message that it 'failed to recover the system' after uploading 100%.

Can anyone help this newbie out? If it makes any difference, I converted this from a TM-AC1900 - could that be why none of this works?

Looking back, I should have just used my backup file to get it working again, but too late now.

Thanks in advance.

It's not a situation I've ever been in so I don't know.

The first thing I would do is unplug it from the power and remove any USB devices. Then leave it for 5 minutes. Then turn it back on and see if it boots up.

EDIT: If you're still stuck in recovery mode try re-flashing the same firmware version that you previously had installed.
