Saw this post and thought I'd mention, had the same problems as above when I upgraded to Merlin's 386.1_2 on the AC68U
Finally disabled AP isolation on the first Guest slot (2.4 Ghz) by running:
wl -i wl0.1 ap_isolate 0
Changing it in nvram directly did nothing
