New Around Here
Hi all,

having problem with login to RT-AC68U.
Just upgraded to Merlin release 374.42. I've done procedure with reset button, and WPS pushed while starting before upgrading.
Everything was working flawlessly until one time I had connection timeout when trying to refresh connected client list. I'm using HTTPS:5001.

Now I can't connect to UI anymore.

router is working, all services are accessible, but I can't access the router...
I have telnet enabled and can login there without any problem.

telnet: reboot command doesn't make any difference with exception that I get prompt for login and password. After that just connection timeout.

I switched to Merlin because I had the same problem with asus original firmware.

Maybe there is something wrong with the box.

Now I have to reset it to default and reload the config.
It's the only way I know to make it accessible again.

Of course tried from different Windows version, with or without firewalls installed, even from Android devices.
IU was working, now it is not reachable.

One more thing. When it happened I had quite low speed connection (connected via Asus PPTP VPN).

Please help.

have you tried clearing the browser for offline data, etc?

Tried clear everything inside the browsers.
Chrome, IE, Firefox and Chrome for Android.
Nothing helps...

Hi again,

I've found that after physically switching off wireless access (via button) UI is accessible again.
When turning WIFI on problem appears again in couple of minutes.
Maybe some WIFI device is making trouble.

Any ideas how to resolve my problem?

Is the GUI inaccessable both from LAN and WLAN?
If only inaccessable from WLAN can you change the https port from 5001 to another, say 8443 and try again?

changing HTTPS port to 8443 haven't change anything.
I'm almost sure that my WIFI printer is causing a problem.
Just after I connect a printer, RT-AC68 GUI stops.
It's DELL B2375dfw. It has a lot of IP services running there.
Maybe one of them is creating a problem...

Where to look? Some logs maybe. Don't know much linux.

Most printers can print out the configuration. Look in the Printers Menu.

I had same issue the other day. I set admin access to https only and could not login locally, only remotely. Had to switch back to both to http & https to get local access

I solved the issue by disabling IPv6 protocol on DELL printer.
Well, it is not just a printer, but multifunctional device with scanner, fax, etc.

This issue still seems to be plaguing the interface. Just has some personal experience with it. Any known fixes yet?

Edit: Although I was able to remedy it, it took a while and it was very cumbersome.
