New Around Here
First off I am a noob so I will try and explain the whole picture as best I can.

Wireless connections at this time are:
PS4 2.4Ghz
Xbox One 5Ghz
3 Smart TVs, Sony 2.4Ghz, Samsung 5Ghz and LG 5Ghz
Samsung Note 3 2.4Ghz and S4 2.4Ghz
IPad version 2, and 3. 2.4Ghz
Wired:
Printer HP
ReadyNAS "RN102"

Firmware Version:3.0.0.4.374_4561
Still connected to Verizon's Router MI424WR "Not Bridged" Might need to be? I have no idea how or if I am even right.

My problem is this, the internet on both wireless and wired will cut out randomly with out warning. The other thing and I think it might be related is the RN102 will lose its connection during a movie on the TV.

I have replaced the unit already at the store and with same results. The tech support guys are well not the most helpful as they say the same thing every time. "Just take it back and get a new one" I hope to find some help other than tech support at ASUS. Thanks all!!

PS when it does this I get this when logging back into the router:

Settings have been updated. Web page will now refresh.
Changes have been made to the IP address or port number. You will now be disconnected from RT-AC68U.
To access the settings of RT-AC68U, reconnect to the wireless network and use the updated IP address and port number.

Hi

I'm no pro at networks but you really shouldn't have both devices in router mode connected to each other as they are both trying to manage your connections and can cause lots of issues such as Double NAT and other issues. I'd recommend putting the Verizon router into a bridge mode or using the AC68u in the AP Mode as a wireless access point around your house. I wouldn't keep both in router mode.

If you read the forum, you'll see lots of people having problem with AC68 rebooting. It's a bug in the firmware. Search forum and read the threads for more details.

There's nothing wrong with having both in router mode. Nothing wrong with his double NAT. The problem is a bug in the AC68U firmware.

I was running firmware version xxx.371 until I started noticing a lot of internet disconnect with my laptop (maybe 1 or 2 per day) recently. I decided to install xxx.583 firmware last week. I reset to factory after the firmware upgrade.

So far, everything has been running as normal without any loss of internet connection. Also, I don't see any new message in the system log.

Also, I didn't see any reboot from the older firmware version that I was using.

Ended up back on merlin 39... Remember to do a factory reset and manually set up and not try to restore

Sorry but is merlin 39 a firmware? I just want to be clear. Do you have a link for that? Thanks!

Yes I was referring to Merlin's firmware

Merlin's .39 release is a firmware that has a few fixes and improvements from the factory firmware.. Though it seems that for most things as long as you make sure FTP without password is disabled, it seems the most stable with still having some security updates that aren't in the lower versions of asus's firmware

Not sure this forum will post a link but..
