Hi,

just to check whether there's been any recent update about any possible way (whatever relative new firmware/distro/fork) to make the Wireless TX power slider on the web gui real and work (it actually is simply irrelevant, tx power stays the same whatever value is set). My intent is to decrease the TX power to a bare enough minimum.

Thanks
Peppe

A slider is very bad GUI representation of the adjustment of TX power. Asus is no Apple on GUI...so we really can't complain here. Underneath there are only four tiers (I can't remember the exact numbers). Anyhow, you won't go wrong with trying the slider at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%.

You'll see effect. Just that the adjustment is not linear and at the granularity the slider may have implied.

When you change the TX power sliders, a reboot is required for the change to take effect.

Thanks to both.

Are you running Merlin ? I forgot to mention I do, and last time I made a test, the slider was irrelevant. I kept it set to 5%, but nothing seemed to change w.r.t. 100% and it was indeed a known issue.

Did you verify the opposite ? If so, can you please share your current firmware ?

Using any of the newer Asus or Merlin firmware on the 68U is already about as low as anyone would want to be even set at 100%.

Hi get your point Jim, however I'd like to be in control of how low I want it to be ...
