Hi,

I have some IP camera's i'm trying to access from WAN. I have set-port forwarding. Which did not seem to work. As it turns out, the Router is not able to ping to the IP camera, regardless of other pc's being able to ping both the router and the IP camera's.

They are on the same subnet with the same netmask.

Any suggestions?

use VPN instead of port forwarding. More secure and less likely to be hit by DOS from port scanners and brute forcers. Also VPN makes it easier for you to access the network instead and the server can be enabled on your router. Make sure to configure it properly so that it is secure.

"the Router is not able to ping to the IP camera"

Does this mean that your are logged into the router (SSH or Telnet), the camera is non-responsive to ping commands?

Are you able to port-forward to any of your desktops (RDP)?
