Ah thank you very much for your answer! This sounds good for me, because we also have fiber 1gbps here ;)

Here is the changelog:

Changelog: Improve from 4825

I am not kidding or making a poor attempt at humor, that is the changelog that JK included in his post over at http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg. For the convenience of those of you who cannot access that site I have uploaded a copy to my Dropbox account. The link to download this new Beta from my Dropbox account is:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/o8dd2u5r43zqld9/RT-AC87U_3.0.0.4_378_4839-g2dad7cb.trx?dl=0

So, here's my question.

What's 4825's changelog over anything else older? I never even saw that version (on 4608 currently).

5Ghz connections for my iDevices (beamforming OFF) are far improved, in fact really great, with 4825 and even more so with 4839. If it wasn't for the (showstopping for me) problem with the guest network I'd say it's almost perfect (as a router).

All my 20 or so devices stay connected and roam sensibly between 2.4 and 5Ghz, Router and AP :)

On beta 4930 iOS devices are not dropping at all (w/ beamforming off)
Im going to try it with beamforming on to see what happens

4930? Not seen that. I've seen 4839 and, today, 4950.

Seems fixlist for these Beta's are very similar - cannot see anything different really between 4825 and now 4950 on the fixlists above

Yeah, they are not very clear. I do think there were improvements in 5Ghz connectivity between 4825 and 4839, so maybe it's a bit better still now, although 4839 seems pretty spot on here (with beamforming off). Maybe there are other incremental improvements to the other things mentioned too.

The 4950 is on the Asus support site. I just did the update, reset and cfg restore and all is good. I'm hoping the iPad will be more stable on 5GHz.
