Hi clever ones,
Using the RT-AC87U with Merlins latest firmware build 376.48_1.
During setup and after reboot the 5GHz dies. A factory reset is the only option to get it running again.
It's the same phenomena with Asus official releases as with Merlin's releases.
The Wireless log says something like: "not started" for the 5GHz radio after reboot.
The WiFi symbol in the Asus ui. says "Channels 0" for the 5GHz.
Any ideas why this happens?
I read somewhere that I should use only alphanumeric characters in the WPA-key.
And, I am, ASCII Alphanumeric. I have used my 63 character key for a good 5 years now with a lot of different routers/clients and it has never caused any problems. Is this just an issue with the Asus-line of routers?
The key works flawless on a RT-AC68U.
Anyhow, any ideas is appreciated. Put in far to much time into this router already so it might be replaced with another AC86 instead.
Thanx // t
