Hi all,
After attempting to use bridge mode on the RT-AC87U I've found that when the 5Ghz wireless is used for the connection the 87U doesn't behave like a transparent bridge.
Basically it doesn't masquerade as the connected devices behind it and appears to always use its own wireless interface MAC address, so it isn't transparent.
This can cause confusion for things that enumerate connected devices which leads to me being confused as well but really it's not the correct behaviour.
What's more other devices such as DIR-865L, DIR-868L and the 87U's own 2.4Ghz wireless do behave that way. I'm trying to get my RT-AC66U back from my son to check how it behaves too.
Does anyone know if there's anything I can do to fix this or to get it fixed by ASUS?
Ian
