I just updated my firmware from 380.70 to 384.4_2 and can`t connect to IPv6. Before the update I could not use IPv6 either. Actually, I was never able to use IPv6 with this router.

I`m using a RT-AC87U behind a bridged modem.
When I directly connect to my modem, using Windows PPPoE connection I`m able to use IPv6 without a hassle, but Asus router does not seem to like IPv6 and never receives any v6 address.

I`ve read many people claiming they connect to IPv6 just fine, but I`ve never had luck with that.
Recently I change my ISP and could not use IPv6 with this router also.

My configuration are as follows:

Connection type - Native
Interface - PPP
DHCP-PD - Enable
Release prefix on exit - Enable
Auto Configuration Setting - Stateless
Enable Router Advertisement - Enable

The only message I could identify on log was this:

dnsmasq-dhcp[4554]: DHCP, IP range 192.168.1.100 -- 192.168.1.199, lease time 1d
dnsmasq-dhcp[4554]: DHCPv6 stateless on br0
dnsmasq-dhcp[4554]: router advertisement on br0
dnsmasq-dhcp[4554]: IPv6 router advertisement enabled

Does anyone knows what might be the problem?
Thanks

any ideas guys?
To me it seems like odhcp6c is not working properlly, but I`m not really sure and I can`t find anything anywhere.

What CAT # cable are you using?

I don`t think the cable has anything to do with my problem, but I`m using:

ISP Fiber >> modem ONT in Bridge >> CAT6 UTP >> Asus RT-AC87U WAN port >> CAT6 UTP LAN port >> PC

Had it been CAT 5 than that might have been the issue as the 87U is very picky. Unfortunately, Shaw still isn't supplying IPv6 addresses to consumers and the only option I have here for Internet. :(

I see. My current ISP is supplying IPv6 and so did my former ISP, but yet my AC87U won't grab it.

I don`t know if I understood the issue on that tread you sent, but, in that case, I believe the IPv6 was working and only IPv6 gateway was not being passed to clients.
In my case though, I`m not receiving any IPv6 address, as the attached image shows.

I also believe I set IPv6 options correctly.

That was the same problem in my case for which I added a default one over my PPPoE connection (ppp0), so just add it and voila your IPv6 starts working ;)

I reset my router and manually configured everything, then my IPv6 started working flawlessly.
My guess is that, by restoring my saved configuration on the last update, the router was not able to restore DHCPv6.

Thanks a lot for all the help.
