RT-AC87U, WPS is disabled, but it looks like not on 5 Ghz

Hello!

I have a problem with my RT-AC87U. I disabled WPS in web-interface, but wifi-devices sees 5GHz-net like WPS-available.

What i did : test 3 firmware (last from site, beta from support, last from Merlin, now i am using it) . Ofcourse, i did factory reset after every firmware upgrade.

It not helps.

I read some topics in this forum and test some command, so if i
do

qcsapi_sockrpc set_wps_configured_state wifi0 disabled
qcsapi_sockrpc rfenable 0 wifi0
qcsapi_sockrpc rfenable 1 wifi0

on main system or restart hostapd on quantenna, problem going away.

But only before restart. After restart it' going again.

Any decision?

Use bully or reaver in order to confirm that it's really disabled.

I believe this is a known issue with the 87.

yep, known issue, after you reboot you have to start and stop wps again to have it turn off.

It's a known issue like they say... and it won't get fixed unless quantenna does it and provide that fix to ASUS

I know at least one customer, who hasn't (from his words in another forum) Why it so? We compared result of

@ASUS_ASUSWRT as you can see the issue is solvable by simply adding the:

qcsapi_sockrpc set_wps_configured_state wifi0 disabled
qcsapi_sockrpc rfenable 0 wifi0
qcsapi_sockrpc rfenable 1 wifi0

into a script that runs on each device powerup/reboot/start... Not that difficult and no need to wait for quantenna to fix the mess
