RT-AC88U, Can not change region settings.

I am trying to change region settings because i only have 5 channels on the 5ghz network. Since i bought it from china, the channels do not support some of my devices over the 5ghz network.
I can find the 5ghz from my iphone, but not from my oneplus 5. This is not a big problem, but i would like to get i solved, so i dont have to worry about it later on.

I found this,

When i do this, it changes everything in nvram, but when i reboot, they go back to normal. Either CN/06, 13, or CN. Can somebody help me, what am i doing wrong?

Those codes don't work anymore (and probably never did for the RT-AC88U) and haven't for a couple of years. It's because people were doing this sort of thing that Asus had to change the wireless code to prevent it happening.

Okay, i figured it was something like that cause that thread i was reading was from 2015. Is there any other way to unblock the other channels on my 5ghz?

I don't know. I've read that some people with Chinese routers have the abailty to change the region from the web interface. I don't know whether that option is specific to certain models or firmwares.
