Howdy folks,
I have rt-ac88u for myself and I imported from Tawian. The one I have is working very well and I am getting average 270 /121 on WiFi 5ghz where radio strength -67dbm.
Since I was having good experience, I bought two more from amazon.com for my family. However, I suspect they are defective. To test it out I use one router at a time. Here are some issues I am facing
1. It takes long time to open to router main page when new router is connected via wifi.
2. Speed test app times out most of time, rest time it works it cut my throughput in half. Example downlink i get 121. and uplink is even worse most I get 8 right next to router on 5 ghz, however if i do test from location where I get 270/121 average. I am getting 80/0.65 average, i even tried 3 am when it is not that busy.
3.I am using same control channel and everything is same on all three routers, my original one and two additional ones I bought. I have factory reset each time I change firmware and have tried official ASUS and merlin.
4. WhatsApp video call disconnect all the time and all browsing is slow regardless of band. 2.4 ghz is worse then 5 ghz. Even navigating Asus router page is slow
6.None of this present on wired connection, and all of this start happening right away when I swap router for test.
One thing I do notice which is odd is when I start using wifi first page take noticeably longer to load, in some case up to 200 to 300%, this problem with both new router which I got from amazon.com.
If I switch back to my original one, everything is well.
Any Ideas?
