New Around Here
Hello folks,

Both my 2.4 and 5ghz has died on my router! My questions are:-

1 Is the hardware for the wifi repairable?

2 Are the new RT-AC88U's any more reliable please?

Thankyou

1. In general NO and no one is going to waste time and money in repair attempts on a 6-years old router. It may cost more than the router.

2. Newer and faster models are available now. No need to buy new 2015 model router in 2021. Reliability on newer products is questionable.

Thank you for your reply, what would you recommend as a replacement please?

The AX86U is recommended by many in these forums.

Thanks for the info. My parents and I are currently using the N66U. I am going to upgrade myself to the AX86U for my apartment. And I am upgrading my parents to the AX68U.
