New Around Here
Hi all,
hope you are well

I have a funny problem with my router, the 2.4ghz radio disables itself. Looking at the gui I see a half wifi icon and in a couple of menus it highlights that it's disabled and links to the professional menu for 2.4ghz where its showing as enabled. Strange eh!?

I have tried reloading the latest merlin firmware and factory reset from the gui and the wee button on the rear. The 2.4ghz radio enables for a couple hours then just disables itself. I have checked the forums and see that there were some earlier versions of the AC88U that had radio issues, this one is A6 which is recent.

No issues with the 5ghz which is rock solid

Delving into the command line I get the following response when checking the status of the 2.4ghz radio:

xxxxxx@RT-AC88U-DC90:/tmp/home/root# wl -i eth1 status

wl: wl driver adapter not found

xxxxx@RT-AC88U-DC90:/tmp/home/root# wl -i eth2 status

SSID: "VM2344705"
Mode: Managed RSSI: 0 dBm SNR: 0 dB noise: -90 dBm Channel: 108/80
BSSID: B0:6E:BF:6A:DC:94 Capability: ESS
Supported Rates: [ 6(b) 9 12(b) 18 24(b) 36 48 54 ]
VHT Capable:
Chanspec: 5GHz channel 106 80MHz (0xe26a)
Primary channel: 108
.......

Do you guys have any other ideas about fault finding this problem?

thank you
Gary
