Hello everyone, I am trying to discern the various differences between these 3 routers.
Looking at these pages:
There seem to be very little differences between them except the LAN chips
which seems to differ in model and make however they all seem to be 2.5GbE for WAN and 4x1GbE LAN
and that the TUF version seems to use additional amplifiers for the 2 and 5 GHz for some reason (increased range) maybe.
Can we conclude that all three supports 2.5GbE for the WAN port to connect to the router if used as a mesh node?.
Asus homepage is a little unclear when it comes to compare devices because there are v1 devices also mixed in
which uses older SOCs and whatnot.

Can we conclude that all three supports 2.5GbE for the WAN port

No.

RT-AX58U V2, RT-AX3000 V2 - exactly the same router with different marketing, no 2.5GbE WAN port
TUF-AX3000 V2 - one of the Gaming marketing variants of the above hardware with 2.5GbE WAN port

Thanks for the answer Tech9, yes I must have misinterpreted the 2.5Gb WAN port they show on the above informational pages.
Maybe they refer to what linkrate the MII interfaces can support if external interface chip is used.
I thought that if the SOC supports 2.5Gb link using these media independent interfaces, then surely it supports it using its native built-in port.
Cant seem to find FCC ID report with photos etc for the TUF-3000AX V2

I thought that if the SOC supports

The SoC may support many things and they may be enabled or disabled by the device manufacturer. Example is routers with the same hardware marketed as AX3000 and AX5400. The "cheaper" version has two streams locked in firmware on the 5GHz radio.

Only V1 version has 4-stream 5GHz radio hardware, V2 version is 2-stream. It is possible on V1, but not easy to do and just firmware flash won't help. You have to look for clues elsewhere because enabling all 4-streams may not be illegal, but other things around this process may make it illegal.

Thanks for the information, it is interesting that it would work like that. I already bought the TUF Ax-3000 V2 and not looking to fiddle that much with it.
