I have RT AX86u Pro, I have rebooted via software and done a hard reset. I only get 35 to 52mbps via WiFi both 2.4or 5 G and direct ethernet cable. I have replaced the modem from by ISP (cox) service provider. No major effect?
Added information: DL is around 35 to 38 mpbs and UL is 50 to 53mpbs incase that adds anything to get an answer.
Any suggestions. I have the orginial set up which was a CP from the post that I got from the forum here.

It would help if you can provide more information.
What is your broadband plan's advertised speed?
What firmware is the router running?
What is the router connected to upstream? (make/model of the Cox modem, router or gateway)
What speed do you get if you connect a gigabit capable ethernet port computer to the Cox modem or router?
After performing a hard factory reset did you manually reconfigure the router or did you import a previously saved router.cfg file?
Do you have any other features running on the router like AiProtection, AiCloud, QoS, USB hard drive attached to router, etc.?
What specific troubleshooting steps have you tried?
Sounds stupid but have you tried replacing the Ethernet cable between the Asus router and Cox modem, router or gateway?

If you haven't done so already, use the site search feature to find other past discussion on slow broadband speed with Asus routers. For example this post this morning in this same subforum:

Is that 'download' speed from internet, or is it file transfer speed?
If it's file transfer speed, then 35-55 is normal over WiFi.

If it's download speed from internet (speedtest.net) then you'd need to check settings.

Suggest doing a reset of both router and modem. Sometimes modem speed can get stuck, so turning off for 5-15 minutes can reset your connection with local exchange to pick up a better incoming speed.

can't do this at the current time, will get back later
After performing a hard factory reset did you manually reconfigure the router or did you import a previously saved router.cfg file? imported previously saved
Do you have any other features running on the router like AiProtection, AiCloud, QoS, USB hard drive attached to router, etc.? AiProtection ON
What trouble shooting steps have you tried? reboots, new cables (all) disconnect and reconnect to IPS, to router. power everything on and off called tech support at IPS provider (joke for sure)
Sounds stupid but have you tried replacing the Ethernet cable between the Asus router and Cox modem, router or gateway? yes replaced all cables even power cords when possible

Upgrade your router to the current firmware.
Factory reset with initialize.
Make sure you use the GB WAN port to connect to the modem.
Manually configure. Do not use a saved config file! Leave the Wi-Fi at defaults except for the SSID. Enable AiProtect if you want to.
Should work!

Some additional suggestions.
Perform a hard factory reset on the RT-AX86U Pro. Then do a basic setup. Do not import a saved router.cfg file, do a basic manual install. Do not enable any extra features like AiProtection or anything other than setting up WiFi and setting passwords.
Make sure to connect the Arris to the RT-AX86U Pro's WAN 1GB port.
Connect a wired 1GB capable network computer to the router and perform a speed test.
Use the router's internal speed test page to perform a speed test.
Compare the results.
If the Arris has more than one networking port, try another port on it if you haven't done so already.

Test a wired PC connected direct to the Arris modem to see what it obtains for speed.

How is the Asus router configured for WAN access with the Arris modem? What are you WAN page settings?
If the Arris has an administration page, check it to see what options or settings it has. Maybe it has to be put into "bridge" mode or have the Asus router put into the Arris DMZ zone.
If it hasn't been done so already, maybe try resetting the Arris modem to see if that helps or changes anything.

The TM342A is a modem only. Maybe not the best but it has no WIFI.
Did not the prior posts recommend everything you recommended?

Having had numerious Arris products over the years its helps to check it's administration page to see if there is anything that can be set or changed. Sometimes the broadband provider locks it down or configures it in a way that can cause issues with down stream routers (been there done that with Arris in the past).
Yes some of what I posted was previously suggested both in my earlier post and in yours, doesn't hurt to suggest it again just in case. Sometimes a second or third pass at a previously made suggestion one already tried might trigger a solution or fix the issue or lead to further information.

I had the same problem with the non-Pro router. I ended up getting it warranty repaired by Asus and bought the Pro version while it was in for repair. Everything was great until the 2 year mark. Turned out to be an issue with the radios. That didn't explain the issue with a cat6 Ethernet cable.

If you followed all of the suggestions you need to contact Asus.

Thank for the many replies. I am working on them. As far as I know I can not access any of the setting on the Arris modem. If there is a way pleae post it for me.
I am working on the other posts.

Here are the latest results . ethernet cable connected. After firmware update to 34334 .
