Thanks everyone! The 80Mz was the secret sauce! I don't know why but the Surface Pro 8 wants that setting. Works great on WiFi6 now as per the attached speed test. Thanks again. I just needed to be pushed in the right direction.đź‘Śđź‘Ť

The AC68U will limit the AX86U Pro WIFI to the channels and bandwidth present on the AC68U. Better to get another AX class router and retire the AC68U. Or just set it up as an access point (Ethernet connected) and it will not bother the AX86U Pro.

Actually this worked out even better than I expected. My internet plan is 500Mb and all wilfi6 devices are getting close to that. I know that if any of those connect to the ac68u they'll be limited but that would only happen if I were in my garage where the ac68u is located for minor devices there. I'm extremely happy with this. I never expected to get in excess of 450Mb on any wifi device. And the signal strength is great too. Thanks again to everyone.

No, clients connected to main can still do 160MHz. Tested with 36-64 exactly on RT-AX86U with node exactly RT-AC68U. The node connects to 36-48 and obviously offers 36-48 to own clients. Every repeater works this way no matter how marketing is calling it - node, satellite, pod, etc.
