After a long use of a rt-ac68u (more then 10 years) I have switch to a RT-AX86U Pro.
And not with great succes. Yes my devices as 5G have been a lot better and faster.

But everything on 2.4G keeps having trouble
- Shelly's
- SB radios
- ESP home

Disconnect, don't want to connect, dropout, etc.
Most of the time they want to connect to u Ubiquity accesspoint (to far away). I have block them there, but they don't want to connect stable to the asus.
I have tried a guest network with 2.4 only, but no stable connect.

Running on 3004.388.8_4 merlin (because of iptv).
Help would be appreciated

If possible you should change your topic title to RT-AX86U Pro if you don't have RT-AX86U. The RT-AX86U is a separate / different router and it might confuse people.
Maybe try a different channel if you have a lot of wifi pollution in your area.
You didn't indicate how far the various wifi devices are from the router that are having an issue.
Any particular reason why you changed those wifi settings from their default values? Did changing them to the current settings improve or make it worse from default settings?

1) I can't change the titel?

2) Tried more then one channel, tried a lot of things. (factory reset, more settings then I can remember).

3) Other then the standard setting is the result of a lot of d advice on different forums, like here you can find a lot about disabling WIFI 6.

The distance varies, between 4 meters (with only a door in between, wood) to about 20 meters.
5g works everywhere in my house, and the signal oke. They just will not connect.

Set Chanel Bandwidth to 20 MHz
Set WPA Pre Share Key to 8 to 10 characters upper/lower case letters and numbers. No special characters or spaces.
Go back to Dual Band SmartConnect. If you do need something special for 2.4 GHz use a guest network.

And perhaps forget previous network connection on clients and re-create for new network.
