RT-AX88U Pro with Merlin - Basically an improved hardware version of the RT-AX88U????

I've just spent the past hour searching and reading threads as it pertains to running Merlin on an AX88U Pro, some more entertaining than others!

My question is fairly simple (I think) and pertains to the conclusion I believe I've drawn.

Is it true that putting Merlin on an RT-AX88U Pro basically turns it into an RT-AX88U with "improved hardware"?

If so, this is what I want!
I've uncovered a few things in the PRO firmware that I do not care for and would like to eliminate as the other routers in my friends network are "non-PRO" AX86Us.

Thank you in advance!

PS - I'll be happy to add the issue I believe I'm seeing after I get my answer so as not to allow the thread to go off on a tangent from the outset! :)

AGAIN, thank you in advance!

You get the newer hardware features without the instability immaturity of the new 3006 firmware. 3004.388 is mature and stable, without any Pro-specific software features that aren’t ready for prime time yet.
