Hi All,

My RT-AX88U just arrived today. I am planning on getting it setup and flash merlin firmware on it. What are the steps i need to take to flash it properly. Please let me know.

Also which firmware should i flash for RT-Ax88U?

Update to latest Asus firmware.
Download latest Merlin firmware Asus RT88.
Flash Merlin firmware.
Reset to factory settings
Configure your router manually. Don t restore settings file.
That's it.

And even better to repeat those both steps, load firmware a second time and reset to factory again with intialize enabled in GUI. That is to have both internal firmwares updated (there is a hidden second one which may conflict otherwise).
Use last Merlin 384.16 (maybe still beta but ok).

Is there a way to check which second firmware is still installed?

Dont know exactly how its done - probably last working one to which bootloader can fall back in case of faulty recent firmware.

Don't worry about the second partition.
