Adding a post stating that router has updated, everything came back as expected, and so far no known issues.
Also adding that my overall network upgrade has also gone according to plan. in achieving 2Gbp service to my computer which is where i do most of the big downloads. Either be it videos from YouTube to watch offline, or large OS updates, etc.

Here are my current speetest results after running a speedtest with the firmware update: https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/d/705827486

I had several issues

1. VPN Server IPSec Client connect may cause the router reboot itself, even sometimes can connect but cannot browser the internet.
2. Cannot turn off Smart Connect to manually adjust the Wifi channels settings. Click Smart Connect OFF button and then Apply but no response, cannot switch to the Channels setting page.
2. One of the CPU coil always stay at 100% usage. It may happen on any of 4 coils randomly. Reboot the router may fix but not absolutely work.
4. Adjust settings may hang the router, need manually power off and on.

See my reply on the BE92U thread about the smart connect. It seems to be related to connected devices on the 6Ghz band, and for me I still had separate SSIDs. As far as the VPN stuff I don't use those features.

I'd send feedback to Asus via the feedback page in the router if I were you

I just got my unit today and updated to the latest firmware and after reading this thread I decided to check and it was normal at first then a few seconds later core 1 pegged at 100%.

I wonder if that's configuration specific, or even a hardware issue. I've had my router for more than 2 weeks as it's now past Best Buy's return period (14 days), and none of my cores ever go above 10% and they don't stay there. I've watched the graph for a few minutes at a time when logging in. Also, maybe try doing a factory reset in case something got messed up between the stock and updated firmware. I remember when getting mine, there was an update waiting, and then this one came out after. So, my router has had 2 firmware updates since I've had it.

My setup is pretty simple mostly default settings with a couple iOT networks configured. No VPN, or other sharing features enabled.

Today I checked it be letting it sit open for a couple of minutes and the cores were all around 14% and under so IDK.
