As the title says - Does the RT-BE92U - support Guest Pro Network? I am looking to connect ioT devices to it.

If yes, is there a way to keep the devices on it isolated so that they can only talk to each other and the Internet? Is there a way to add an Ethernet port to this network? I have a Hue Bridge that only has a wired Ethernet connection available.

Thanks in advance.

Should in firmware 3.0.0.6.* It's development-in-progress, so confirm it works as you want. Be sure to reboot the router after changing VLAN associations in the configuration... some configuration changes require a fresh start.

Thank you. It will be fresh out of the box.

Does it also allow the Ethernet ports to be on the guest?

WARNING: Picked up mine (fw 3.0.0.6) from Best Buy two weeks ago. It is not compatible with my other older Asus routers (AX86U, AC86U, 1800S). Your guest network will not sync to nodes running an older firmware (fw 3.0.0.4) according to https://www.snbforums.com/threads/a...-guest-wifi-on-aimesh-node.88910/#post-912018

I wasted countless days resetting and reconfiguring the router in the hope that Guest networks will sync to other older routers with no success.

How's it going with this router at this time frame? Did you update to the latest firmware and get things working like you wanted? I'm thinking of getting one of these routers, my primary reasons are the LAN speeds and "Smart home Master" for IoT devices feature. I have limited knowledge on network, and have a ton of smart devices in use and as I play with them as a hobby. My GT-AXE16000 keeps dropping them out. To test I connected some devices direct to the ATT-T BGW320 and no drop outs.
Thanks and hope you are doing good with your new routers.

My GT-AXE16000

Your existing GT-AXE16000 router is the better hardware device and currently runs on more mature 3004.388 base firmware plus has Asuswrt-Merlin support. The "ton of smart devices" is perhaps the issue because they connect to the same single 2.4GHz radio and on many home routers it has limited number of active connections. If you plan expanding the number of your smart devices further - better think of VLAN capable multi-AP system. Omada and UniFi are lower cost options, both have high-density APs available, both have native VLAN support. You have to speared your smart devices to multiple radios. Another home All-in-One router with single 2.4GHz radio is not your long term solution.

Currently I have nodes connected, AX88U and RT AX5400 in garage as backhauled hardwired nodes and the plan was to make the GT-AX16000 a node and remove AX5400. In that form does the Ai mesh use the other radios? Or am I just throwing more money to patch things instead of a full solution? Sorry I’m not super knowledgeable with this, I usually guess and things work , but non lately, and I enjoy the smart home and hobby of creating devices and messing around. And thanks for your time

If you want AiMesh specifically and with VLAN separated devices including on the "nodes" you better look at all the same model routers running 3006 firmware. It's a work-in-progress firmware including AiMesh redesign currently happening. How well it will work is up to you to find out. The more you mix and match different models on different firmware the more incompatibility issues you'll encounter.

Sorry I’m not super knowledgeable with this

Your knowledge has to grow along with your requirements. Otherwise you are facing a lot of wasted time and money in trial and error.

You really have to wonder if Asus have lost the plot with the implementation of the AIMesh system, first it only propagated one Guest Network (GN1) to nodes (in addition to the main network), then with the GN Pro FW it made VLANs but it was never formally clear if this version worked with non-Pro nodes, although there were reports from a number of folks (including senior forum members, refer posts in this thread post #15, post #19 and post #35) who confirmed it was, and now they are making (baking?) a whole new FW system (yes I’ve seen RMerlin’s note in another thread)… hmmm 🤔.

Only time will tell what is going to be compatible. I can’t recommend to anyone right now investing into AiMesh mix of new and reused routers. Nothing is documented, taking chances and hoping for the best.
