I think I got the actual lemon, so far. Couple of similar tales on reddit. I bought the 96u, started on a sunday afternoon. Boy did I need it. Got it started, on initial startup, then it wanted to upgrade to newest firmware. I said yes, I don't remember if I even had a choice. That was it...

Drop down menu allows up to four to be purchased per buyer.
IMHO too many people couldn't justify the cost, and returned.
I posted since people want to upgrade to wifi 7 plus RMerlin's fw support.
Casa Griswald is too poor to buy 1st gen wifi 7, but I can't wait to see the next gen routers that get RMerlin Magic!

Other possible reason for return - low WAF. I also don't see this one in my living room.

Around here quite often GT-AX6000 EVA Edition is available "open box" and cheaper than standard version.
