Sorry, I don't know if you have passed this information, have you tried to update to the latest original version? There was a problem with the ONT in the WAN input that when it restarts the router loses the connection and if you remove and put the cable it is solved. With the update this no longer happens.

Few things: yes I'm updated to the latest Asus version. No, I'm not on Merlin for reasons listed above. I don't have fiber so I don't have an ONT, I'm rocking cable and a modem. Even with a modem, unplugging and replugging, even rebooting the modem, did nothing. My router and wired clients never lost internet, only my wireless clients had an issue, which would be connected to the wifi, but with "no intenet connection". I was already experiencing network instability issues before updating to the latest Asus firmware, and I updated to try and solve those instability issues.... except they only got worse. Performing a factory reset seems to have corrected the issue. At the moment, I have not had any connection issues since resetting over the weekend.

I wanted to chime in bc I'm heartbroken that my newly purchased router (purchased Dec 5th) has been having all kinds of issues listed here... overall it was working for a bit over the wknd but very spotty and this morning I couldn't for the life of me figure out why the Internet wasn't connecting at all and the red light was on.

The modem seems to be working fine - all the lights were on, although it is fairly old (from Spectrum - been about 4yrs since setup) I'm wondering if an incompatible modem might be the root cause?

Either way, I don't want to have to Hard Reset my router but it sounds like i may have to (once I get off from work)... tried restarting both modem and router a bunch of times, with no luck..

You might be having a different issue from what I was experiencing. When you log into the router, do you have a WAN IP? Do you have any wired clients? Do those wired clients have an internet connection? If not, you likely have a different problem from me. That said, a hard reset never hurts
