[SOLVED] RT-N56U Blinking Power LED
I was prompted of a new firmware update when I was setting up the router for use. I followed the instruction and install the new firmware as per instructed.
However, after I restarted the router, problem started. Upon start-up, there is no connection at all. All I can see is that there is blue power blinking LED light on the router.
I read up a bit and the manual say that a slow blue power blinking LED mean recovery mode. Upon reading more, I read from this forum post, that I can flash my router firmware via firmware restoration utility.
I went to the ASUS official support page, followed their instruction, but I cannot solve the problem.
In particular, it ask me to download the firmware for "RT-N16", and I got an invalid IP when I try to recover.
When I try with "RT-56U" firmware, the firmware restoration show "Failed to upload the firmware. Please check the connection between your computer and router."
Update:
I managed to solve it by downloading the correct firmware, and plugging the connecting cable into LAN port, instead of WAN port.
