RT-N66u dropping my laptops 5ghz connection to the internet

My Vaio Laptop loses connection to the internet whenever these entries appear:

I only have my laptop and my android phone connected. And i think that the phone keeps staying connected whereas the laptop loses connection to the internet for about 30sec before getting online again.

I'm presuming that you don't have the laptop connected to the router with a cable at any point.

My guess is that the wireless connection is switching between the 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands which will cause the brief disconnection.

How far away from the router are you when it disconnects?

Nope always wireless, never connected with a wire. The distance is about 2m (6 feet)

No the phone has nothing to do with it.

It's slightly difficult to read the log as you have mangled the output (Really, there's no point in hiding the MAC addresses, what will you achieve by it?)

The message does not indicate an error, it's just information. It is not causing the disconnection. It is telling you that there was a discrepancy with a MAC address seen on the 5GHz network interface. As it occurs just as the device with IP address 192.168.1.101 (presumably the laptop) contacts DHCP we can assume that is the device causing the message to appear.

As to why it is happening, that's difficult to say without knowing a lot more about your setup and how/when you are using the laptop. It could be as simple as the laptop (or its wireless card) going into standby mode.

For example, I have a remote access point connected to my router. When I come back from work my phone connects automatically to the access point. When I go upstairs, the phone disconnects from the access point and reconnects to the main router. At this point I will see that message appear in the log as it re-establishes connection. Wireless repeaters will do the same thing.

If you Google for that message you will see that it has been reported on many different platforms for years and years.

Did that solve your problem? It certainly solved mine of android devices getting dropped from the Internet! (Separate thread I'll post)

Yes enabling enable wmm apsd does not work with smart connect at all either, keep disabled.
