My setup:
PC wirelessly connected to ASUS [RT-N66U] router.
Brother 7840W printer hardwire connected to router.

Background:
Have assigned specific IP address for the printer in the ASUS dashboard.
Have DHCP turned on the ASUS.
PC can see printer & print no problems.

Issues:
However, no other wireless device can see the printer on the network.
Neither smartphone, laptop, tablets are able to see & send print jobs to the printer.
It's odd that the PC can see the printer via wireless but other devices can't.

Question:
Am i supposed to configure something else on the router?
or
Do I need to configure something on the printer?

Printing from smartphones and tablets is a chapter of its own. It isn't something you just do because you have a network printer (or a USB printer connected to a router). The printer needs to be supported by the phone/tablet/app etc.

Regarding the laptop that can't see the printer. Have you tried running the printer setup utility?

Hi,
Printer driver loaded from where you want to use the printer? Load the driver on your laptop for an example. And ping the printer to make sure you see it.

Thank you both! Installing the printer software on the laptop did the trick.
The software was able to see the printer on my network & did its thing.

Now to figure how to print from the mobile devices...
