New Around Here
Since a few days ago, my RT-N66U randomly started locking up, making me lose connection for many minutes at a time. When sshing in, I can run top and see very high sirq cpu usage. The top processes running seem normal though.

I was originally on an older Merlin build when it started. I've tried the newest Merlin and stock firmwares. They all have the same problem. Tried factory resets, resetting nvram, etc. Any suggestions? Would I have to go through the warranty process?

Did you ever figure out what was going on with your router? Mine has started doing the same thing lately. Same model and everything.

Running the latest release build of Merlin 376.49_5

When sirq goes through the roof, the top processes are usually ksoftirqd/0. acsd is near the top too, which made me think it has something to do with the wireless so I've disabled both radios to see if that makes a difference.

For what it's worth, I was running an older version of Merlin (can't remember off hand). I upgraded to _5 to see if that would help and it doesn't seem to.

Hope someone got around to answering this. I'm suffering the same problem with my Samsung m3 hard drive. Locking on 100% cpu usuage and Internet speed is crippled at different points in the day which a reboot fixes initially. On the latest merlin firmware as of March 7th 2015.

I have emailed Asus to see what they suggest but I have tried a lot things but to no avail and I don't want to lose the use of the network feature as streaming it to my smart TVs, phones and tablets.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks
