New Around Here
I recently updated my routers firmware to the latest version and now I have an extremely unstable connection both wired and wireless. I have tried uploading the latest firmware couple of times and even went back to 378.55 without any luck getting a stable connection. I'm beyond frustrated with it now. I dropped netgear routers for this reason and I'm not ready to fight with this router to keep a good connection. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

internet connection or lan network are giving you problems.
if its internet, connect one good working pc wired directly to modem(without using router) and test connection.

I have noticed issues as well. Just got off the phone with my provider and they said their end was fine. I also did the jump from around the same firmware (378.50)

Hi,

Stay with the most recent version and do a factory reset and reconfigure the router manually (or use the User Setting Save/Restore Utility) - this will ensure that all the "background" default settings are set to the values of the recent firmware version.

To find out what really makes the problem you need to reconfigure the router at minimum and also re-connect all devices (forget/remove the wireless settings). Only by adding features/configuration items one by one, you will be able to find out what is causing the problem.

With kind regards
Joe

No, I didnt "Factory to Defaults"
Internet connection. I will be ok for a little while then it slows to a crawl and then nothing. Reboot router and back up again for a little while then same thing

Ok, I'll have to try that out later. Work soon. This thread will probably be deleted soon. Didnt see my 1st attempt at this posted and I reposted again. Thanks for the advice

"Factory to Defaults" is recommended.

Is Factory Defaults recommended before you update the firmware?
