I was wondering if there is a guide to follow on How to connect and use a USB Flash Drive for file storage on this router?

Help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have not yet much experience with N66U but in order to use your usb drive (flash drive or traditional external drive) you just need to follow these steps:

1) plug your drive in one of the two usb ports

2) go to the router main page (usually 192.168.0.1 but depends if you have not changed router ip) and click on USB application

3) select Servers Center

4) click on Network Place (Samba) Share / Cloud Disk

5) click on Share with account

6) create user/password and set Read/Write privilege for every folder in the USB disk

7) click on Miscellaneous setting (on the top)

9) change Device Name to any name you want (example: Disk01)

9) Click apply

you will be able to see the newly connected disk (Disk01 or how you called it) by simply going to Start/Computer/Network

I didn't do any of that. I just plugged my hard drive into the routers usb, then went to my pc and mapped the network drive (computer>map network drive) then my pc saw it and all the folders etc on the drive.
This need to be done on every pc which needs to see the drive.
For android devices i use an app called ES File manager, the app scans the network and finds any other pc's which are switched on and it also finds asusnetwork and the hard drive connected, then i can just stream films from the router hard drive, copy and paste from the hard drive to my device or between other devices.

Paul.
