On an older version of the Merlin firmware, there was a tab called "Miscellaneous Settings" for Samba. This tab has a setting for "Maximum number of concurrent connections".

This screenshot from 3.0.0.4.374.32 on RT-N16.

For the most part, these settings have moved to the "Network Place(Samba) Share / Cloud Disk" tab today, but this particular setting is missing.

I think I need this because I am getting the following error when I try to map a drive on Windows 7.

"The mapped network drive could not be created because the following error has occurred: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service."

Or is there another reason for this?

The 'free' command shows 97% RAM usage but I also have 128MB swap configured and that swap is mostly unused.

admin@RT-N16:/tmp/home/root# free
total used free shared buffers
Mem: 126452 123552 2900 0 2000
-/+ buffers: 121552 4900
Swap: 131064 3888 127176

Thank you very much.

Awesome. Thank you. I confirmed that changes to this "FTP Share" setting works for Samba too. Changes to it get saved to /tmp/etc/smb.conf

I'll have to check if Asus forgot to add it to the Samba page, or if I forgot to merge in when it got moved.
