Hi,

I recently found out that my N66U is using the same MAC address for WAN as well as for the 2.4GHz AP. Is this normal and expected? Seems really odd to me.

It might be related to my other issue with the effin' ASUS infamous 'Rock Solid. Heart Touching.' Oh, the irony! :D My other issue with the N66U.

If you have flashed the latest official Asus firmware and cleared the nvram and reset to factory defaults and afterwards manually and minimally configure the router to connect to the ISP and secure the router and it still shows that behavior, you will have answered your own question.

With Stock/Merlin firmware the WAN MAC address is equal to what is printed on the bottom and equal to the MAC address shown for LAN and Wireless 2.4 GHz in the System Status.

It is per design. The MAC address what is printed on the bottom is globally unique as it should be.

I don't think so.

Thanks for the constructive sarcasm. Really what I needed right now!
