I have an Asus RT-AC3100 router. I would like to have it reboot every couple of days. I tried two solutions.
1: use the reboot scheduler within the assert-merlin firmware.
2: use a script to reboot the router. Both methods will reboot the router. The issue I'm having is when the router reboots, using either method, it hangs and I never get an internet connection. I have to power off. I Believe I have found the issue, but don't know how to solve it.
The issue appears to be with the VPN reconnection. If I use the above mentioned reboot schedules it works fine if I DO NOT have the vpn running on the router. If the vpn is running it hangs. I am using openvpn and have it set to start with wan.
Is this a known issue? Is there a fix or work around?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
