Security OpenVPN vs. TOR

New Around Here
Hi,

I am using NordVPN for quite a while now. It is running good and the kill switch is always working.
Recently I noticed that the TOR feature would also be a good alternative for me since it is quick enough for my purposes.

My question: Is it possible that the TOR connection could be lost and my IP can be visible? Like a VPN without kill switch?

+ Would you use TOR if speed is not that important and why?

from my experience, I would go with a trusted vpn before using tor. With tor you want to have the "right" setup which leaves more configuration to be done on your end if you don't want the raw end of the stick.
It is something you really want to do alot of research with before attempting to use yourself. BTW the tor on the router was just implemented code by asus to be sort of an experimental feature that they never really fully implemented on there end, so what you are using if you decide to use the built in router feature, is kind of a use at your risk type of feature, you would be better researching and configuring tor properly with a setup like privoxy on entware. I would tell you, stick with VPN route if you are wanting simple and easy.
