Are the benefits of using security zone segmentation worth its complexity?

what do you mean by security zone segmentation?
I guess its like my network with ipfire that has a network that is for the wireless (blue) that don't network with the computing network (green) as well as the static servers (orange) unless firewall rules are set for devices to communicate.

I would guess it would depend on the network and router used on how this can be complex or not.
