SFP+ Modul RT-BE88U

HAL9001

New Around Here
Hello guys,
I was able to successfully test the following SFP+ modules: TP-Link SM5310-T and HiFiber ASF-10G2-T, both for the RJ45 connection.

I can confirm about TL-SM5310-T, I tested one on my side as well and worked great at 10Gb/s

Add to that the TL-SM5110-SR for fibre (LC) connections.

Hi guys,
I've now switched to DAC cable with receiver tested with SM5220-3M (TL-SM5220-3M) and SM5220-1M (TL-SM5220-1M), an Asus XG-C100F 10G card is used as the network card. The advantage over an RJ45 connection is that the power consumption is only around 0.7 watts, similar low latency to fiber optic and the whole thing is much cheaper to buy :-)

Hi HAL9001, do these modules get very hot? I stopped using my spf+ module (brand soloda) after getting extremely high temps after about 30 mins.
What would be a good fiber-to-fiber module to use instead of the fibre-to-RJ45 module? TIA!

Hi Papbear77, unfortunately I can't answer that because I don't have a fiber module in use.I'm currently using a TP-Link (TL-SM5220-3M) module for a DAC cable connection in conjunction with an Asus XG-C100F 10G card. The module doesn't even get warm to the touch. I don't think a pure fiber-to-fiber connection will get particularly warm either, since the modules require very little voltage compared to RJ45 modules.

can confirm that you are using the SFP+ port on the BE88U router configured as dual-WAN or otherwise? your Asus card is on a pcie slot on a computer?

Currently, I'm using the SFP+ port of the BE88U router, which is directly connected to the Asus card. The card is on a PCIe slot.
