Hi smart people,
My system is Callcentric VoIP service through an RT-AC86U running the latest Merlin builds to an OBi200 VoiP device.
OCCASIONALLY, seemingly randomly, I find a call has gone to voicemail without having rung my phones.
When I've been able to capture this , Callcentric tells me that the log shows a 408 timeout, and they recommend I turn off SPI, and SIP ALG on my router.
I've turned off ALG (the "NAT helper" option in the SIP passthrough setting) but the issue continues, and I'm hesitant to turn off SPI, since it appears that involves turning off the router's firewall completely. Or else it may involve running custom firewall rules which I don't really understand and so am not comfortable with.
Does any one have any other ideas on fixing this 'sometimes-sip-calls-don't come-in' issue?
Thanks!
ApK
